     Venango Co. tax (?) Oakland Tp. was taxed for for 70 acres, 1 mare and 2 cows in Oakland Township, Venango County, in 1842.1 Venango Co. tax (?) Oakland Tp. was taxed for 42 acres, formerly of Peter Dempsey, in addition to the 70 acre farm in Oakland Township in 1847.2 Venango Co. tax (?) Oakland Tp. was taxed for an additional 23 acres for a total of 131 acres in Oakland Township in 1854. He was also taxed for a new house.3 Venango Co. tax (?) Venango Co. tax (?) Cherrytree Tp.

     Thomas Noel first appears on the Venango County tax rolls 1826, taxed for 100 acres and 1 cow in Cherrytree Township. The property was formerly owned by L. Rirdon.1 The Tarrs first farmed in Cherrytree Township on land formerly belonging to Jacob's father, just west of Cherrytree Village. Here Jacob was taxed for 200 acres in 1824 and 1825 and for 214 acres from 1826 through 1828.2,3 John Baney was taxed for one cow but no land in Cherrytree Township in 1830.4 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 2 horses and 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1830.5 John Baney was taxed for 138 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1832. which was purchased from James Lebby. The land was valued at $77.28 and he paid a tax of 88 cents.6 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 384 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1832. A notation in the assessment records show that this land was either formerly or partly owned by John Tarr, Frederick's neighbor.7 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 192 acres, or half of the 384 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1833.8 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for only 92 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1834. The assessment records suggest that Frederick gave or sold 100 acres to his son Peter. Frederick apparently sold the remaining 92 acres to a Mr. Henry.9 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 92 acres, 1 horse, 1 cow, and 40 acres, formerly James Morrison in Cherrytree Township in 1837.10 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 42 1/2 acres, part of Peter Bennyhoff in Cherrytree Township in 1838. The 92 acres he was previously taxed for was apparently sold to a Mr. Henry who paid the tax.11 Thomas J. Noel first appears on the in Cherrytree Township tax lists in 1839. He was assessed with 1 cow.12 Thomas J. Noel was again taxed for 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1840. His name appears as Thomas Noel Jr.13 John Benninghoff was taxed for 10 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1841. This land was formerly owned by his father Venango Co. tax (?) Cherrytree Tp.14 Thomas J. Noel was not listed in the in 1841 in Cherrytree Township tax list.15 Daniel Baney was taxed for 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1842.16 Thomas J. Noel was taxed for 62 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1842.17 Jacob Baney was taxed for 1 cow in Cherrytree Township from 1842 to 1844.18 John Baney was taxed for 90 acres, 1 horse, 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1843.19 Daniel Baney was taxed for 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1843. In 1844, he was taxed for 125 acres in Oakland Township, Venango County. In 1856, he was taxed for only 41 acres. Following his death, his property continued to be listed in the tax rolls of Oakland Township through 1864. In 1865, the 41 acres "formerly of Daniel Baney" was taxed to John Braun.20,21 Thomas Noel was taxed for 100 acres, 2 oxen, 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1843.22 Thomas J. Noel was taxed for 62 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1843.23 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for 70 unseated or unoccupied acres in Cherrytree Township between 1841 and 1847.24 John Baney was taxed for 90 acres, 1 horse, 1 cow in Cherrytree Township in 1844.25 Between 1830 and 1835 Jacob was taxed in Cherrytree Township for 167 acres and from 1836 through 1844 for 150 acres.26,3 John Baney was taxed for 75 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1845.27 Frederick Benninghoff was taxed for unseated land in Cherrytree Township in 1845.28 Thomas J. Noel was taxed for 50 acres, formerly taxed to Samuel Hogg in Cherrytree Township in 1845. In a separate entry in the tax lists, the 62 acres for which Thomas was previously taxed was crossed off indicating that he had sold that property.29 John Baney was taxed for 75 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1846.30 Frederick is last recorded on the Cherrytree Township assessment lists in 1847. He continues to appear on the Oakland Township lists until 1849.31 John Baney was taxed for 75 acres in Cherrytree Township in 1849.32 Thomas Noel was taxed for 100 acres in Cherrytree Township until 1851.33 In that year, Thomas Noel was taxed for 130 acres in Cherrytree Township.
