     Frederick Stevenson was born circa 1800 in Union County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He married Elizabeth Benninghoff, daughter of Frederick Benninghoff and Maria Elizabeth Wert.3,4 He married Juliann/Julia McBride.5 He died between 3 May 1864 and 6 June 1864 in Mercer County.5
     According to the 1879 Venango County history, Frederick Stevenson and Elizabeth Benninghoff had 13 children, 8 sons, and 5 daughters, 3 of whom were deceased. There is a broken and largely unreadable gravestone in the Cherrytree Presbyterian Cemetery for "Children of F. & E. Stevenson."6,7 According to the 1879 Venango County history, Frederick came to Venango County in 1836, settling on the Story Farm on Oil Creek in Cornplanter Township. After two years he bought and settled on a farm in Cherrytree Township. He remained there until 1858 when he moved to Mercer County where he lived the rest of his life.6 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census of Cherrytree Township, Venango County.8 He was living in Shenango Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in 1860.9

Sponsors for the baptism were Nicholas and Barbara Noel.1 She married Peter Bennehoff, son of Frederick Benninghoff and Maria Elizabeth Wert.2,4 She died on 16 January 1883 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, at age 79.3,2 She and Peter Bennehoff were buried in Cherrytree Presbyterian Cemetery, Cherrytree Township, Venango County.5
     Peter Bennehoff and Catherine Noel name written as Benneyhoff sold 80 perches in Cherrytree Township to Jacob Tarr for $2000 on 2 September 1865. This property abutted land of Samuel M. Irwin Jr. and Peter "Benninghoff" (formerly A. J. McClintock) and the Franklin Road.6 Peter Bennehoff and Catherine sold 28 more perches to Jacob Tarr for $90 on 2 October 1867. This land was along the Bennehoff land, land of Fiddler V. Irwin, and the Franklin Road.7 Peter Bennehoff and his wife Catherine sold 5 acres in Oakland Township to Barbara Noel for $300 on 27 November 1868. The land abutted Samuel Tarr, George Tarr, and George W. Tarr and originally was part of the large tract conveyed to George Tarr by Commonwealth patent in 1840 and which he bequeathed to son George by his will. George Jr. sold this land to Bennehoff in 1867.8

     Ira J. Hamilton was born in 1869 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County.3 He was the son of William H. Hamilton and Matilda Bennehoff.2 He married Lydia S. Stevenson, daughter of George Washington Stevenson and Elizabeth A. Johnson, on 11 May 1892 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1,4 He died in 1940.3 He was buried in Cherrytree Cemetery, Cherrytree Township.5
     Ira J. Hamilton and Lydia S. Stevenson lived in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, where Ira worked in the oil fields.6
