FatherCharles Shoemaker1 b. 30 Dec 1741, d. 27 Mar 1820

Jacob Shoemaker was born between 1770 and 1780 in Pennsylvania.2,3 He was the son of Charles Shoemaker and Maria Kepner.1 He married Mary Heverling.4,5 He married Susannah Zieger on 12 March 1835 in Pickaway County, Ohio.6,7 He died in 1843 in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio.8
Jacob and Mary Shoemaker were living in East Buffalo Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, by 1798 when Jacob purchased 35 acres of land now located in Union County.9,10 Jacob and Mary moved from Pennsylvania after he sold his property in East Buffalo Township to Salt Creek Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, in 1803 around the same time as his brother John. After the death of his first wife in 1832, he moved to Circleville in Washington Township, Pickaway County. Jacob was associate judge of Pickaway County for a number of years.11,12,13,2,3

Research Note:

Jacob Shoemaker certainly had additional children from those listed below. Shoemaker Pioneers include Mary Ann Shoemaker, who married William Myers in 1828 in Pickaway County, and Rachel Shoemaker, who married John McCoy on 14 December 1830 in Pickaway County, as children of Jacob. A son Frederick who did not marry is also included. However I have found no source that proves they are children of Jacob.14,13,2,15,16
