Research Note, 11 August 2013:

Johann Adam Körner was most likely born in Germany and immigrated to Pennsylvania as a child or young man. Two Johann Adam Körners are listed as arriving in Philadelphia in Rupp's listing of German immigrants. One arrived on 24 August 1750 aboard the Ship Brothers and the second arrived aboard the Ship Richard and Mary on 17 September 1753. It has not been determined if either of these Johann Adam Körners is the one who married Regina Bingeman and lived in Reading.2
Johann Adam Körner was known as Adam Kerner.
Adam Kerner served as an "inlisted Soldier in His Majesties American English Regiment" during the French and Indian War in 1757.1 In preparation for marching off to war, Adam left a will dated 10 July 1757. According to the will, Adam directed that the house on the lot in Reading given to him by his father-in-law be completed for his beloved wife Regina and their two children. He directed that his children be "brought up in true Piety according to the Lutheran Doctrine, through Church and School; and if the Mother is not able to do this, they may be put out by my Guardian to the age of twelve years to Christian-like people, so that my son Johannes may come yet to a Trade in good time." The Will was entered into probate on 2 February 1762 indicating that Adam was deceased; however, it is unknown if Adam died while in military service.1
