Jacob Loewengut1

d. before 9 February 1758
Jacob Loewengut married Margaretha Sands.2 He died before 9 February 1758 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, when his will was entered into probate.1
Jacob Loewengut left a will dated 2 December 1749. According to the will, which was entered into probate on 9 February 1758, Jacob let his estate to his only son Jacob on condition that he provide for Jacob's wife Margred, during her life and pay to his daughter Anna Margreda FEHLER L10 and to his daughter Anna Barbara L5.1 A note in the Fehler GEDCOM reads as follows: In a letter copy, received by Richard Failer, originaly from Mrs. Carleton H. Faler, January 11, 1976, that she received from Mary Keyser Meyer, a genealogist at the Maryland Historical Society and also a descendant of the Fehler-Loewengut line.
Several years ago I found (Mrs. Carleton H. Faler) found a copy of a typewritten book in the Library of Congress about the Livingood-Levegood families by L. L. Levegood published in 1938. It was the first mention we had found of the possibility of Anna Margarethe's capture by Indians. Page 38 "In the early part of April, 1758, a party of Indians took the settlement, and Jacob Loewenguth and his wife were killed and scalped. Anna Barbara and Anna Margaretha, who was the wife of Jacob Fehler, with two of her children, were carried away captive by the Indians, and nothing was ever heard of them. Jacob Loewengut Jr. the son, escaped the attack."
However, the dates in the story don't match the date Jacob's will was entered into probate (Feb. 1758) and the fact that Jacob's daughter Margaretha Fehler had to have been dead before February 1758 as well since her husband re-married at that time.2

George Peter Behney left a will dated 2 January 1784. According to the will, Peter bequeathed his land to his son George Peter Behney Jr. He provided for his beloved wife Christina and their two children who were not yet 14 years old. He bequeathed 10 pounds to each of his nine other children, to be paid by Peter, one each year according to their birth order. Jacob was listed as the oldest followed by Melchoir and Eva who were twins. The will was entered into probate on 26 February 1784.3
George Peter Behney and John Baney are undoubtedly related; however, a connection has not yet been found [DKM, 2007].
