Sarah Ann Manson was born on 1 June 1824 in Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Robert Manson and Mary Elizabeth Miller.1 She married George Y. Carner, son of John Carner and Susan Stroup, on 1 January 1845.2 She died on 22 June 1919 in Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, at age 95.1 She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1
Sarah Ann Manson and George Y. Carner raised a family of 13 children. She was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census of Rockland Township. The household consisted of Sarah and her children Eli, Loretta, Ody, Bessy, and Ora.3
