     Elda May Tarr was born on 19 October 1864 in Oakland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Michael Tarr and Martha Melissa Weikel.1 She married John Martin Gharing, son of John Gharing and Elizabeth Baney, on 17 April 1885.2 She was buried in Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1
     Elda May Tarr and John Martin Gharing lived in Oakland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, where John was a farmer and an oil producer.3
