     On November 1849, Adam was appointed postmaster in Franklin. He served in that position until his death. Sarah was appointed to succeed her husband as postmistress on 23 April 1860 and served until March 1865.³ Sarah Webber and Adam Webber acquired the property extending along the west side of 13th Street from Buffalo and Chestnut Street. Adam built the family home on the corner of Buffalo and 13th Street. The house was most substantially constructed, the lumber drying on the ground for two years to season thoroughly, which was considered the proper action at the time.⁴ During the oil excitment, the influx of people to the area was so great that the hotels and boarding houses could not accommodate all of them. As a result almost every residence with room to spare had to help take care of the visitors and the Webber house was no exception. Because of its convenient location it became a favorite place for visiting oil men to room. Many prominent men roomed at the Webber house and perhaps the most notorious was John Wilkes Booth, who spent much time in the oil regions before the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865.⁵ All of the Webber children were educated in public schools and the Franklin Academy.⁴ She and Adam Webber were members of the Methodist church.⁴ She and Adam Webber had eight children, the names of six are known.⁴ She was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census of Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania. The household consisted of Sarah and her son Wilford.⁶

     Wilfred Hill Webber was born on 10 February 1853 in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Adam Webber and Sarah Smith.¹ He married Eleanor Kooser on 30 June 1887 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.^2,1,3 He died on 27 March 1930 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California, at age 77.¹

     Wilfred Hill Webber served as a member of the Venango Greys and Co. F of the State Militia, participating in the famous Homestead riots in 1879.¹ He was the American Vice-Consul General at Canton, China and later at Shanghai, China. Later he was connected with the California State Department living in Berkeley.^4,5

     Eleanor Kooser was born in August 1866 in California.² She married Wilfred Hill Webber, son of Adam Webber and Sarah Smith, on 30 June 1887 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.^3,1,2

     Marjorie Webber was born on 23 April 1888 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.^2,3 She was the daughter of Wilfred Hill Webber and Eleanor Kooser.¹ She died on 26 June 1974 in Riverside, California, at age 86.⁴

     Marjorie Webber was a teacher in Los Angeles.³

     Wilfred Kooser Webber was born on 24 July 1890 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.^2,3 He was the son of Wilfred Hill Webber and Eleanor Kooser.¹ He married Mildred LeConte in September 1924 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.⁴ He died on 2 June 1974 in Pinole, Contra Costa County, California, at age 83.⁵

     Wilfred Kooser Webber was living in Berkeley, Alameda County, California, in 1942 where he worked for the U.S. Government at the Oakland Port of Embarkation.²

     Eleanor Parke Webber was born on 12 November 1900 in California.^2,3 She was the daughter of Wilfred Hill Webber and Eleanor Kooser.¹ She married Jerome G. Roberts.⁴ She died on 1 January 1996 in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona, at age 95.³

     Filmore Webber was born in 1851 in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Adam Webber and Sarah Smith.¹ He apparenlty died before 1921 as he was not mentioned as a survivor in his sister Delia's obituary.²

     Filmore Webber was living in Prescott, Arizona, when his mother died in 1896.³

     Emeline J. Webber was born in March 1841 in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of Adam Webber and Sarah Smith.¹ She married William Michael Kern on 9 April 1868 in Urbana, Ohio, by Rev. Van Cleve.² She died on 10 April 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at age 86.^3,4 She was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.⁴

     Emeline J. Webber was known as Emma Webber.
     Emma Kern and William Michael Kern lived in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, where William practiced medicine.^5,6,7

     William Michael Kern was born circa 21 June 1821 in Pennsylvania.^2,3 He married Jane Fox.⁴ He married Emeline J. Webber, daughter of Adam Webber and Sarah Smith, on 9 April 1868 in Urbana, Ohio, by Rev. Van Cleve.⁵ He died on 17 April 1907 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.^4,6 He was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.³

     William Michael Kern was graduated in 1847 from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.⁶
     William Michael Kern moved in 1860 to Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania, with his father Peter Kern.⁴ He moved in 1861 to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to practice medicine.⁴ He served in the Union Army during the Civil War as a surgeon.⁴
