     George Tarr "of German descent" was born circa 25 September 1766 "in the eastern part of Pennsylvania" of German immigrants."2,3,4 He married Barbara (?)5,6 George died on 3 April 1845 probably on his farm in Oakland Township, Venango County.7,8,4 He was buried in Tarr Farm (Kellogg) Cemetery, Cherrytree Township, Venango County.9
     George Tarr and his wife Barbara sold 150 acres in Cherrytree Township to their son Jacob for $50 on 23 May 1829. This land was part of a larger tract on which George Tarr had settled over twenty years earlier and bounded on the north by the farm they sold his brother Martin a month earlier.10
