     Cyrus R. Levier was born on 15 March 1844 in Richland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He married Mary Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Peter Smith and Mary Smith, on 21 November 1867.1,2 He died in December 1928 in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania, at age 84.2
     Cyrus R. Levier served during the Civil War, enlisting on 21 August 1862 in Company F, 121st Pennsylvania Volunteers, serving two years, 10 months, being discharged on 18 October 1864.1 He was an oil field worker first in Clarion and Venango Counties. In about 1886, he began working for Eclipse Lubricating Oil Company. On 15 August 1888, he moved from Franklin to Oil City, being in charge of the Eclipse pumping station.1
