Thomas Wilcoxon was born on 9 March 1695 in Prince Georges County, Maryland.3,2 He was the son of John Wilcoxon and Magdalen (?)2,3 He married Ruth (?)4 He died before February 1777 in Prince Georges County, Maryland, when Testamentary Papers for the estate of Thomas Willcoxen, Sr. where filed in Annapolis.5
Thomas Wilcoxon died intestate (without a will) circa 1777 in Prince Georges County, Maryland. Levin Wilcoxon was made Administrator of the Estate. The inventory shows Thomas as having 39 negroes, oxen, cattle, hogs, horses, and several household and farming implements. The estate was to be divided among his children and as no mention of his wife Ruth was made, it is assumed that she had died before this date. In the inventory of the Goods and Chattles of Thomas, Sr. a number of items were given to Thomas Talburt, Thomas Wilcoxon (III), Hugh Cory, Josiah Wilcoxon, James Edmonston, Jesse Wilcoxon, Levin Wilcoxon, Hohn Wilcoxon, and Nathan Prather. John Nevitt and John Wheat were appraisors. Josiah, William, and Levin Wilcoxon along with James Edmonston signed as creditors. It appears that these men all signed their own names, showing that the family had more education than most at that time.
On February 5, 1778, the following men receipted to Levin Wilcoxon as administrator of the Estate of Thomas Willcoxen Sr.: John Wilcoxon, Josias Wilcoxon, Lewis Wilcoxon, Verlinda Wilcoxon, Thomas Wilcoxon, William Wilcoxon, Jesse Wilcoxon , Nathan Prather for his wife Mary and James Edmonston for his wife Ruth.6
