Henry Karns1

Henry
Karns served in the Civil War. He enlisted on 2 Jul 1862, as a private in Company F, 121st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was wounded at Gettsyburg on 1 July 1863. In June 1864 he was furloughed for ten days and returned to Petersburg at end of the time. He was detailed as a teamster at Belle Plain Landin for three months. he took conspicuous part in the battles of Fredericksburg, White Oak Church, Winchester, Raccoon Ford, Weldon R.R., Culpepper, Spottsylvania and Appomatox. He was honorably discharged at Washington, D.C. on 14 June 1865.
