Sager, daughter of John Sager and Christina Keener, in September 1861 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania.2 He died on 10 May 1864 at the Battle of Laurel Hill during the Civil War.2
     James Karns enlisted as a private in Company F, 121st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry in Franklin, Venango County, on 29 August 1862. He was made a Corporal and took part in the battles of Gettysburg and Laurel Hill.2

     Anna M. Sager was living in President Township, Venango County, in 1880 with Anna's mother Christina Sager.8 In the 1900 Census of President Township, Anna M. Karns was enumerated in the household of Clark Karns.9 She lived in Oklahoma with her daughter for three years, returning to Pennsylvania in 1906 to live with her sister Mrs. Culbertson in Eagle Rock, Venango County.6
