     Frederick James Tarr was born on 8 March 1927 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Robert McKinley Tarr and Ruth Irene Horn.1 He married Lura May Dempsey on 18 March 1947 in Cherrytree Township.2 He died on 12 January 2011 in Cranberry Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, at age 83.3 He was buried in Cherrytree Cemetery, Cherrytree Township.3
     Frederick James Tarr served in the U.S. Army during World War II.3 He was an equipment operator for PennDOT for a number of years until his retirement in 1988. He had also been employed at the former National Forge in Titusville.3
