     Edward Burgwin Stroup served in the Civil War. He enlisted in the army on 27 February 1864 in Franklin. He was a private in Company G, 16th Regiment of the the Pennsylvania Cavalry. He was discharged on 11 August 1865.2 He was a carpenter and taught school at the Domer School after the war.2 He worked in the brickyards the late 1880s in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.2
