     Jefferson C. Carner heirs bought the 91 acre farm in Rockland Township from John Carner Jr. in 1921. That land remained in the hands of his heirs until about 1943 when that last shares were sold.5,6 He and Ella Ann Stevenson lived in Butler County, Pennsylvania, until circa 1901 when they moved to Marietta, Washington County, Ohio where they remained the rest of their lives. Jefferson worked in the oil fields as an oil producer all of his life.7,8,9,2

Carner was born on 10 August 1818 in Ferguson Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of John Carner and Susan Stroup.1 He married Sarah Ann Manson, daughter of Robert Manson and Mary Elizabeth Miller, on 1 January 1845.2 He died on 23 March 1879 in Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, at age 60.1 He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.3
     George Y. Carner was taxed for 28 acres in Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, from 1845 to 1849.4 He was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census of Rockland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.
