Sarah Kelly1

b. between 1825 and 1830
FatherJohn Kelly1 b. c 1778, d. 13 Jun 1849
MotherMary Ann Beatty1 b. 2 Apr 1787, d. 19 Dec 1829
Sarah Kelly was born between 1825 and 1830 in Venango County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of John Kelly and Mary Ann Beatty.1

Research Note:

Census record show that John and Mary (Beatty) did have a daughter born between 1825 and 1830. "Family tradition" holds that a daughter named Sarah married Dr. Robert Crawford who resided in Cooperstown, Jackson Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. According to the 1890 Venango County History, Dr. Crawford married Miss Sarah P. Kelly, daughter of John Kelly of Centre County, Pennsylvania in 1838. Census record of the Crawford family suggest that Sarah Crawford was born around 1821. This researcher believes that the reference to John Kelly of Centre County suggests that Dr. Crawford's wife is not a daughter of John Kelly of Venango County.
Alternatively, it is possible that John and Mary did have a daughter Sarah and that she moved to Iowa with her brother Beaty around 1851. According to Iowa marriage records, Beaty's wife"s brother John Turner married a Sarah Kelly on 19 February 1856 in Cedar County, Iowa. This Sarah Kelly Turner died on 18 June 1858 in Cedar County. According to calculations from her age at death, this Sarah was born about 8 Mar 1826. Census records show that she was born in Pennsylvania. John and Sarah had one surviving son Hugh Kelly Turner, born 18 June 1858, suggesting that Sarah died in childbirth. Hugh Turner died in Iowa in 1924.1,2,3,4,5,6
Sarah Kelly is possibly the same person as this Sarah Kelly.
