     Eli C. Tarr was born on 25 December 1853 in Oakland Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of George Andrew Walter Tarr and Nancy Bennehoff.1 He married Mary E. Branburg on 6 August 1890 in Niagara Falls, Erie County, New York.2 He died on 13 October 1941 in Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, at age 87.1 He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville.1
     Eli C. Tarr lived in Titusville all his adult life, except for "a brief sojourn" to California; for many years he was the manager of his mother's business interest, as an accountant, retiring in 1911. According to his obituary he enjoyed gardening and flowers, and thoroughly enjoyed his home at 310 East Bloss Street.3 He and Mary E. Branburg had no children.3

     Ida Catherine Tarr was known as Catherine.1 She and George Byron Carr lived in Titusville at 114 North Perry Street and where members of the Methodist church.3

     George Byron Carr was born on 28 May 1850 in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of William Carr and Nancy Mettler.1 He married Ida Catherine Tarr, daughter of George Andrew Walter Tarr and Nancy Bennehoff, on 20 September 1874 in Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.1 He died on 23 February 1914 in Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, at age 63.1 He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville.1
     George Byron Carr moved to Titusville in 1870 and entered into a partnership with his brother in the grocery business, their store being located on South Franklin Street. They conducted this very successful business for a period of eight years, when George decided to devote his entire time to the enterprise of oil production. He followed the course of the oil fields, becoming owner of wells at Sisterville, West Virginia, being on of the me who opened the field there. He also had wells in Indiana and Illinois.1 He and Ida Catherine Tarr lived at 114 North Perry Street and where members of the Methodist church in Titusville.2
