     Daniel B. Dunmire was born on 11 December 1842 in Mill Creek Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Michael Dunmire and Mary Garvin.1 He married Pheobe A. Haight on 5 February 1866.2 He died on 24 December 1916 in Mill Creek Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, at age 74.3 He was buried in Fisher Methodist Cemetery, Fisher, Mill Creek Township.4
     Daniel B. Dunmire served Company H of the 149th Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War.4 Daniel and Pheobe apparently spent a few years after their marriage in Minnesota since there son Melvin was born there in 1866. They returned to Pennsylvania by 1870 when they were living in Barrett Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.5 After a few years Daniel B. Dunmire moved his family to Mill Creek Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he and Pheobe remained the rest of their lives.6,7,8 He was a laborer and a farmer.6,7
