     Lorenzo D. Stroup was listed as a grandson of Daniel Stroup in the 1880 census enumeration of Daniel's household. Lorenzo was probably born to one of Daniel and Harriet's unmarried daughters, possibly Amanda, and raised by Daniel and Harriet as their own. Another grandson, George Stroup, thought to be the son of Daniel and Harriet's daughter Harriet, was also raised by Daniel and Harriet. Further evidence that Lorenzo was not a son of Daniel and Harriet is offered by the "Stroup Family Record" which does not list Lorenzo among the children of Daniel and Harriet.2,3
