After Adam's death in 1832, the land was left to his wife Margaret until her death after which time it was to be sold and the proceeds divided among their children. Margaret sold the farm on 10 October 1846 for $200 to Henry Welty. According to the deed she continued to live on the property, having use of the "cabin house and 10 acres as long as she resides there."9,10
